Day trip tips
Make the most of your excursions.
Start early (7-8 AM) for archaeological sites to avoid midday heat and arrive before tour groups
Fuel up before heading to the Akamas Peninsula or remote mountain areas - petrol stations are scarce
Northern Cyprus day trips require passport or national ID at crossing points - allow 30-60 minutes for crossing formalities
Carry cash for smaller villages, archaeological sites, and monasteries - card payment not universal
Troodos mountain roads are spectacular but winding - allow extra time and never rush on mountain hairpins
