Old Stone Grill and Bar occupies a handsome historic stone building on Castle Street in central Roseau, Dominica, combining the character of an old Caribbean merchant house with the energy of a lively grill restaurant and bar. The building's thick volcanic stone walls, exposed timber beams, and open courtyard garden give it a feel distinct from other Roseau restaurants. The menu prioritises the grill: hardwood-smoked BBQ Ribs served with fried plantain and a house sauce, Jerk Chicken marinated for 24 hours in a blend of scotch bonnet and allspice, and Grilled Lobster Tail sourced from Dominican waters and split and basted over coals. The seafood side of the menu draws on daily market availability — whole grilled red snapper and dolphinfish (mahi-mahi) are regular features. The bar is one of the better-stocked in Roseau, with an emphasis on local and regional rums: Macoucherie, Barbancourt, and several Barbadian and Trinidadian expressions sit alongside international spirits. Local Kubuli lager and Carib are on draft. The outdoor courtyard, lit with string lights in the evening, becomes the social hub of the venue on weekends, when live music or DJ sets occasionally feature. The crowd skews toward a mix of locals out for the evening and visiting travellers staying downtown, creating a convivial atmosphere that rarely feels either touristy or exclusive.
