Mindo Cloud Forest
Mindo sits in a cloud forest reserve on the western Andean slope, and it is one of the easiest ways to go from Quito's 2,850m altitude down into warm, humid subtropical forest in under two hours. Otavalo Market & Cuicocha Crater Lake
Otavalo holds one of the largest indigenous textile markets in South America, with the Plaza de Ponchos at its center selling weavings, tapestries and clothing produced by Kichwa Otavaleño artisans from the surrounding valley. Combined with Cuicocha, a water-filled caldera lake formed by a collapsed volcanic cone about 25 minutes further on, the day pairs a market visit with a contrasting landscape stop. Papallacta Hot Springs

Quilotoa Crater Lake
