- Spring
- March to May is the best hiking season with comfortable temperatures of 15-25°C in mountain areas. Wildflowers bloom briefly in the Sinai highlands. Excellent visibility.
- Summer
- June to September is extremely hot in desert areas (35-45°C). Only high-altitude trails at St. Katherine and Mount Sinai are bearable in early morning. Dawn and dusk hiking only.
- Fall
- October to November is excellent for hiking with cooling temperatures and clear desert air. The White Desert and Eastern Desert are particularly good in autumn.
- Winter
- December to February offers ideal temperatures for most desert hiking but Mount Sinai and high Sinai peaks can have near-freezing temperatures at night. Bring warm layers.

Hazard: Flash floods possible in desert wadis after heavy rain, even on sunny days — check weather before entering wadis
Hazard: Heat stroke risk from May to September — hike only before 9 AM and after 4 PM in summer
Hazard: Sandstorms (khamsin) occur March to May — check forecasts before multi-day desert trips
Hazard: Unexploded ordnance in some Sinai areas — always use a certified Bedouin guide and stay on established trails
