- March-May is the long rainy season - trails can be very muddy and some impassable. Not recommended for most hiking.
- Summer
- June-September is the long dry season and the best time for hiking. Cooler temperatures, less humidity, firm trails, and excellent wildlife visibility.
- Fall
- October-November brings the short rainy season making trails slippery and less pleasant. Wildlife viewing still good.
- Winter
- December-February offers the short dry season with good hiking conditions. Best for Pongara turtle nesting combined with beach walks.
