Ca' Pisani Hotel

Ca' Pisani Hotel occupies a late fourteenth-century palazzo in Venice's Dorsoduro sestiere, less than 100 metres from the Accademia Bridge, which crosses the Grand Canal to connect Dorsoduro with the San Marco neighbourhood. The hotel's immediate surroundings include the Gallerie dell'Accademia, housing Venice's premier collection of Venetian Gothic and Renaissance painting, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, one of Europe's most important repositories of twentieth-century art. The Zattere promenade along the Giudecca Canal is a short walk to the south, offering one of the most pleasant waterside strolls in the city.

Ca' Pisani holds the distinction of being Venice's first purpose-designed design hotel, opening in the early 2000s after an extensive renovation of the medieval building. The interior references the Art Deco movement of the 1930s and 1940s, with the owners' personal collection of period furniture, prints, and objects integrated throughout rooms and public spaces. Original features of the palazzo — exposed timber beams, stone lintels, and canal-facing windows — coexist with Art Deco chrome fittings, rich lacquered surfaces, and custom-designed bedroom furniture.

The hotel's 29 rooms and suites are individually styled, each incorporating authentic period pieces from the 1930s–40s alongside handmade Venetian fabrics and artisan craftsmanship. Standard rooms are compact by international luxury hotel standards, reflecting the constraints of a medieval palazzo; superior rooms and suites offer more generous proportions. Several rooms have views onto the quiet calle alongside the building, while others overlook the internal courtyard.

Ristorante La Rivista serves seasonal Venetian and Italian cuisine in a room lined with wine racks and period art. An adjacent wine bar, one of the hotel's most popular features, offers an extensive selection of Veneto and Italian regional wines alongside cicchetti — the small shared plates central to Venetian aperitivo culture. A sauna and Turkish bath are available for guests seeking relaxation after a day of walking Venice's calles and crossing its innumerable bridges.
