Geejam Hotel

GeeJam Hotel is a boutique music-themed property set in the rainforest above San San Bay in Port Antonio, on Jamaica's northeast Portland coast. The hotel was founded by music producer Jon Baker and retains a strong creative identity that distinguishes it from conventional resort properties, drawing musicians, artists, filmmakers, and culturally minded travellers to one of Jamaica's most unspoiled coastal corners.

The property is reached via a winding road climbing from the San San district, approximately three kilometres from Port Antonio town. The setting places guests within dense tropical vegetation overlooking the turquoise waters of San San Bay and the Pellew Islands, a small cluster of privately owned cays visible from the hotel's terraces. The Blue Mountains rise inland behind the property, contributing to the lush, forested microclimate.

GeeJam accommodates a small number of guests across a mix of room types. Treehouse suites are elevated platforms integrated into the forest canopy — the signature accommodation type — while cabin rooms and private villas offer differing levels of space and seclusion. All accommodation features exposed wood, natural stone, and floor-to-ceiling glazing designed to frame forest and sea views. Air conditioning, rainfall showers, and curated sound systems are standard.

The Bushbar restaurant and bar serves Jamaican fusion cuisine — locally sourced jerk preparations, fresh seafood caught off the Portland coast, and seasonal produce from the Jamaican interior. The kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On selected Friday and Saturday evenings, the Bushbar opens to an invited outside clientele, functioning as a social destination for the wider Port Antonio area.

The professional recording studio on the premises is available for hire by artists staying at the hotel. Past sessions have included major international acts, giving GeeJam a reputation that extends well beyond its physical size. Spa treatments are offered in an outdoor setting beneath the forest canopy. Beach access is available at nearby San San Beach, one of Portland's quietest swimming beaches. The property arranges kayaking, Blue Hole excursions, Frenchman's Cove visits, and Rio Grande rafting — approximately 20 kilometres inland.
