Camping Mittagspitze

Camping Mittagspitze is Liechtenstein's primary campground, located at Leitengasse 31 in Triesen, a municipality in the southern Rhine Valley approximately 5 km south of Vaduz and 5 km north of Balzers. The site takes its name from the Mittagspitze, a prominent summit visible in the eastern mountain wall above the Rhine Valley, and occupies a position at the valley floor with open views of the surrounding alpine landscape that are difficult to appreciate from within Vaduz's more built-up streets. Triesen is a working agricultural and residential community with a quieter character than the capital. The campground fits naturally into this rural village environment, offering a genuine outdoor experience without the over-organised activity-resort feel of purpose-built holiday parks. The Rhine Valley cycling path runs in close proximity to the site, making Camping Mittagspitze a logical and well-used overnight stop for cycle tourers working the scenic route between Chur and Lake Constance. The campground accommodates three categories of guest: tent campers on individual pitches, motorhome and caravan guests with electrical hook-up connections, and those opting for simple cabin rental as a modest upgrade from tent camping. A small shop on site handles basic provisions. Hot shower and toilet blocks are maintained to a clean and functional standard, and a children's playground makes the site practical for families with young children. Views of the Rätikon mountain range rising sharply to the east of the Rhine Valley are a genuine attraction of the site — open and unobstructed by the buildings that define the Vaduz townscape. On clear mornings the peaks appear in sharp relief above the vine-covered slopes of Triesenberg and Vaduz. Access to the capital by public bus from Triesen takes approximately 10 minutes, with services running throughout the day in both directions along the Rhine Valley main road. Rates of CHF 25 to CHF 90 per night depending on pitch type and season represent the lowest accommodation costs available anywhere in Liechtenstein.
