- Dry Season
- May to October is ideal for hiking - dry trails, cool temperatures in highlands, excellent visibility, and lower malaria risk. Best months are June-September.
- Shoulder
- April and November can be hiked with some caution - occasional showers but generally manageable.
- Rainy Season
- December to March brings heavy rains, muddy trails, flooded rivers, and high humidity. Most highland trails impassable. Not recommended for serious trekking.
- Winter
- June to August is the coolest time, particularly pleasant for highland trekking. Bring warm layers for early mornings and mountain camps.
