Spring
March-May is hot and dry; lower elevations uncomfortable but Shan Hills cool. Fewer crowds on trails.
Summer
June-September is monsoon season — trails muddy and leeches active. Kalaw trek difficult. Not ideal for most hiking.
Fall
October-November excellent — trails drying out, cool temperatures, green landscapes from monsoon. Best for Kalaw trek.
Winter
December-February is peak season; ideal temperatures, clear skies, and dry paths. Most popular time. Book guides in advance.
