The country combines world-class museums, UNESCO sites, hearty cuisine, and warm hospitality at prices that make it one of Europe's best-value destinations.

Transport tips

Travel smarter, not harder.

Tip

Always validate your bus/tram ticket by stamping it in the yellow machine onboard or at the platform — plain-clothes ticket inspectors are common and fines are 150-200 PLN

Tip

Download the Bolt or Uber app before arriving — both are much cheaper than hailing street taxis and drivers are rated. Set pickup location precisely as drivers cannot always see you.

Tip

For intercity trains, book at intercity.pl (English version) at least 7 days ahead for promotional fares (promocja) — same-day trains can cost 3x more

Tip

Warsaw's metro runs until 1AM on weekdays and 24 hours on Friday/Saturday nights — very convenient for nightlife

Tip

In Krakow, the main attractions (Old Town, Wawel, Kazimierz, Schindler's Factory) are all walkable or within a short tram ride — taxis are rarely necessary for sightseeing

Tip

The SKM commuter train connects Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia, and Gdansk Wrzeszcz every 10-15 minutes for 4 PLN — much better than driving for Tricity exploration
