Poland has a temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons. Winters (December-February) are cold with regular snowfall, particularly in the mountains. Summers (June-August) are warm to hot with temperatures regularly reaching 25-30°C in lowlands and cities. Spring and autumn are mild and often the most pleasant times to visit, with colorful foliage in October being spectacular. Rainfall is distributed throughout the year with peak rainfall in June-July.

Months: Mar-May
Temperatures rise from 5°C to 18°C. Cherry blossoms in Warsaw and Krakow parks by April. Mountain trails open progressively — high Tatras accessible from May. Fewer crowds and lower prices.
Summer
Months: Jun-Aug
Warmest season with 22-28°C in cities. Baltic coast at its best for swimming and beach holidays. Mountain hiking season in full swing. High tourist season — Krakow and Auschwitz very busy.
Fall
Months: Sep-Nov
September still warm (18-22°C) and often sunny — arguably the best month overall. October brings spectacular foliage across forests and parks. November turns cold and grey.
Winter
Months: Dec-Feb
Cold across Poland with temperatures from -5°C to 3°C. Christmas markets in Krakow, Warsaw, and Wroclaw are magical from late November. Zakopane transforms into a ski resort. Bialowieza Forest has a fairytale snow-covered quality.
