Galicia has three airports, high-speed AVE rail to Madrid, and a network of buses covering most towns. Within the region, car hire gives the most flexibility — especially for the Costa da Morte, rural areas, and Ribeira Sacra. Urban buses in Santiago, Vigo, and A Coruña are reliable and cheap. Ferries connect the Cíes Islands and Ons Island from May to October.
