Cap Rocat

Cap Rocat is a singular luxury retreat on the southern coast of Mallorca, Spain, carved into the fortified battlements and rock face of a 19th-century coastal artillery fort at Cala Blava, approximately 10 kilometres southwest of Palma de Mallorca's city centre and 8 kilometres from Son Sant Joan airport. The military fort, decommissioned in the 20th century, was converted into a hotel with 28 rooms, suites, and standalone houses, each integrated into the existing stone structure with minimal visual disruption to the dramatic coastal landscape. The sea views from Cap Rocat are among the most impressive in the Balearics, looking directly south toward the open Mediterranean and west toward the cliffs of Cabo Blanco. The hotel's private cove is accessible via a private stone staircase cut into the cliff, offering guests exclusive access to a calm, clear swimming inlet away from Mallorca's busier beaches. A garden infinity pool at the fort's edge appears to merge with the sea horizon. The Sea Club, the hotel's informal restaurant, serves fresh seafood and Mediterranean dishes using locally sourced fish, vegetables, and Mallorcan olive oil. A formal fine-dining venue operates for dinner with a tasting menu format. The spa uses natural stone chambers within the original fort structure and offers marine-based treatments alongside standard wellness services. The hotel operates strictly as an adult retreat for guests aged 16 and above. A car or hotel transfer is necessary to reach Cap Rocat, as there is no public transport to the property, and guests typically arrange rental cars to explore the island or use the hotel's transfer service to Palma.
