Bartın is a small Black Sea province in northwestern Turkey, known for its Ottoman wooden architecture, the historic coastal town of Amasra with its Genoese castle, the Bartın River winding through forests, and the long sandy stretch of İnkumu Beach. Bartın has a humid subtropical to oceanic climate strongly influenced by the Black Sea. Summers (June–August) are warm and humid with temperatures reaching 28–30°C; winters (December–February) are cool and wet, around 8–10°C. The province receives substantial rainfall year-round, making it one of Turkey's greener regions — the forests stay lush even in summer. The coast at Amasra is slightly milder than the inland city.
