Gaziantep, in southeastern Turkey near the Syrian border, is one of Turkey's oldest continuously inhabited cities and its undisputed culinary capital. Gaziantep's layout is compact enough for taxis to be the primary tourist transport. The old city is best explored on foot. Dolmuş minibuses (shared taxis) run fixed routes and are the cheapest option for locals but require Turkish-language navigation.
