Niğde is a provincial city in south-central Turkey, sitting at 1,200 metres above sea level on the edge of the Cappadocia region. Nevşehir & Göreme (Cappadocia)
Göreme is the walkable heart of Cappadocia, set among the cone-shaped rock formations ('fairy chimneys') that formed as wind and water eroded soft volcanic tuff. Rock-cut Byzantine churches, cave dwellings and valley trails are all reachable on foot from the town centre, so this is a full day even without a car. Most of the payoff comes from being physically inside the landscape - climbing into a cave church or walking a valley floor - not from viewing it at a distance.

It's a genuinely different experience from the above-ground Cappadocia sights: narrow, low-ceilinged passages and a real sense of the engineering involved in hiding an entire community underground.

The falls sit inside forested, mountainous terrain at the edge of the Aladağlar range, and the appeal is as much the walk between the different fall viewpoints as the falls themselves.

Aladağlar National Park Full Day
