Southern Utah (Zion, Bryce, Moab) is high desert: hot summers (100°F+/38°C+), cool winters with occasional snow, and dramatic spring and fall seasons. The Colorado Plateau parks receive most precipitation from summer monsoon thunderstorms (July–September). Elevations range from 2,000 feet (Great Salt Lake basin) to 13,528 feet (Kings Peak, Uinta Mountains), creating dramatic weather variation across short distances.
