Wyoming is the least populous U.S. state yet one of its most spectacular, encompassing Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and vast high-plains ranching country. Cowboy culture runs deep, rodeos are a living tradition, and the landscape swings from boiling geysers to glacier-carved peaks within a single afternoon's drive.
Wyoming has a semi-arid, high-altitude continental climate with dramatic temperature swings between seasons and even within a single day. Elevation dominates everything: the eastern plains sit around 4,500 ft while mountain passes exceed 10,000 ft, creating wildly different conditions separated by short distances. Expect cold winters statewide, hot dry summers at low elevations, and cool summers at altitude.
