Make the most of your excursions.
Start the Efate Ring Road circuit early at 7 AM and go clockwise — this catches the east coast in morning light and the west coast beaches in afternoon sun
Tanna Island is best done as a 2-night trip (not a day trip) to see Mount Yasur after dark when the lava glow is most dramatic
Book organized tours to cultural villages and UNESCO sites the day before — many run at specific times and fill up
Carry cash (Vatu) for all community entry fees — no card facilities at beaches and village sites
