Eritrea, located on the Red Sea coast of the Horn of Africa, offers a unique blend of Italian Art Deco architecture in Asmara, pristine beaches along the Dahlak Archipelago, and rich cultural heritage. This hidden gem features Africa's cleanest capital city and untouched coastal landscapes.
Eritrea has two distinct climate zones shaped by its dramatic topography. Asmara, at 2,300m altitude, enjoys a temperate highland climate with mild temperatures year-round (15-25°C), making it one of the most pleasant capitals in Africa. The Red Sea coast including Massawa is one of the world's hottest regions, reaching 40-45°C in summer and remaining very warm even in winter. The highlands experience a rainy season from June to September; the coast is arid year-round with occasional winter rains.
