Wissant Beach is a wide, wild crescent of pale sand on the Côte d'Opale in the Pas-de-Calais, in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. The bay stretches for around eight kilometres between the headlands of Cap Blanc-Nez to the east and Cap Gris-Nez to the west, backed by low dunes and the small village of Wissant, whose seafront sits on the Rue de l'Eglise side of the bay.

The water is the cool, greenish-grey North Sea, and the sea at low tide recedes a long way across firm, flat sand.

The beach is open and exposed, and the strong, steady wind makes it one of the best-known kite surfing, wind sports and sand yachting spots in northern France. A kite surfing school operates from the beach, and a constant procession of colourful sails is typical on breezy days. Away from the main access point the sand is largely empty, making it a good place for long walks, beachcombing and photography, particularly when the cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez appear along the horizon. The atmosphere is relaxed, outdoorsy and unhurried rather than resort-like, and families come for the space and the shallow tidal pools at low water.

Amenities are modest: public toilets, seasonal snack bars and restaurants in the village, and limited parking close to the beach that fills quickly on summer weekends. There is no direct public transport, so visitors typically arrive by car from Calais, around 20 km away on the D940. The village centre is a short walk from the sand. From here the coastal path leads along the dunes and onto the cliffs of the Two Capes area, offering walks with views across the Channel to the white cliffs of England on clear days.

Visitors should check tide times before walking far along the bay, because the incoming tide can cut off sections near the headlands. Swimming is possible but the sea is cold and currents can be strong, so lifeguarded areas and calm days are preferable. Wind protection and layered clothing are useful at any time of year.
