- Spring
- February to April is excellent for hiking - wildflowers bloom briefly in the desert, temperatures are pleasant (18-28°C), and migratory birds are present
- Summer
- June to September is extremely hot (40-48°C) - only early morning hikes before 7 AM are feasible. Coastal and shaded trails are preferred. High risk of heat exhaustion.
- Fall
- October and November bring cooling temperatures (25-35°C) making desert trails comfortable again. Good visibility and calm winds.
- Winter
- December to January offers the most pleasant hiking weather (15-22°C). All trails are accessible. Popular season for desert camping and outdoor activities.

Hazard: Extreme heat from May to September with temperatures exceeding 45°C - carry 3+ liters of water per person
