Sri Lanka is a tropical island paradise in South Asia, renowned for its ancient Buddhist ruins, stunning beaches, lush tea plantations, and incredible wildlife. From the iconic rock fortress of Sigiriya to the pristine beaches of the south coast and the misty highlands of Ella, this diverse nation offers unforgettable experiences for every traveler.
Sri Lanka has a tropical climate with two distinct monsoon seasons that create opposing weather patterns on different coasts. The southwest monsoon (May-September) brings heavy rain to the west and south coasts and central highlands, while the northeast monsoon (October-January) affects the north and east. This means Sri Lanka always has a dry coast to visit somewhere. Temperatures remain warm year-round, ranging from 27-32°C on the coast to a refreshingly cool 15-20°C in the hill country around Nuwara Eliya and Ella.
