Hotel Hofgarten Luzern

Hotel Hofgarten Luzern is a boutique hotel at Stadthofstrasse 14, beside the Hofkirche in the Altstadt of Luzern, Switzerland, a few steps from the lake. The Hofkirche, with its twin spires, anchors the neighbourhood, and the Schweizerhofquai lakefront promenade on Lake Lucerne is only moments away on foot. The Kapellbrücke and the Reuss river lie a short walk to the south-west, while the Löwendenkmal and the Museggmauer are also within walking distance, which makes the hotel a convenient base for exploring the old town and the lake edge without transport. The railway station and the lake boat landings are a pleasant walk along the waterfront, so day trips by rail or boat remain easy. The hotel is a mid-range property, with indicative double-room rates of about CHF 180 to CHF 340 per night depending on season. Rooms are offered as Double Rooms and Superior Rooms, and the boutique character suggests individually styled interiors rather than uniform chain décor, though room details should be confirmed with the hotel. Listed amenities include a restaurant, a bar and wifi, so guests can take breakfast, meals and a drink on site, with menus and opening hours best confirmed directly. No spa, pool or fitness area is listed. The service character is that of a small, design-minded city hotel, with an emphasis on atmosphere and location over extensive facilities, and it suits couples and independent travellers on city breaks. The streets around the Hofkirche are pedestrian-oriented and lively in the evening with restaurants, yet generally calm at night, which makes the location both convenient and comfortable. Because the old town is largely car-free, guests arriving by car should plan garage parking in advance. Advance booking is recommended for July, August, the Lucerne Festival period and the December market season, when boutique rooms close to the lake sell out early. The hotel can be a good choice for visitors who want a character-rich stay close to both the old town and the water.
