Denizli is a dynamic city in southwestern Turkey, world-famous as the gateway to Pamukkale — the extraordinary terraced white travertines and thermal pools that cascade down a hillside and are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List alongside Hierapolis, the ancient Greco-Roman city that crowns the plateau above. Beyond the travertines, Denizli province shelters Laodikeia (one of the Seven Churches of Revelation), Tripolis ancient city, the underground Kaklik Cave, hot red springs at Karahayıt, and the rugged Honaz Mountain National Park. The city itself is a prosperous textile and manufacturing hub, offering modern amenities, excellent lokanta dining, and affordable accommodation.
Denizli is well-connected by air (Çardak Airport, 65 km east), intercity coaches, and trains. Within the province, dolmuş minibuses are the primary local transport. The key route for most visitors is the Denizli–Pamukkale dolmuş from Deliklitaş stand — it runs every 20–30 minutes and costs 25–35 TRY (~$0.75–1 USD), taking about 30 minutes. Taxis are metered and widely available. City bus cards (Denizli Kart) cover the urban network.

There is no direct dolmuş from Çardak Airport to Pamukkale — take the Havas shuttle to Denizli first, then change to dolmuş
Renting a car allows easy day trips to Kaklik Cave, Tripolis, and Afrodisias which have no public transport
İzmir airport (ADB) is an alternative entry point with more international flights — coaches run regularly to Denizli (~2.5 hours)
Train to İzmir is scenic but slow (~5 hours); comfortable for those not pressed for time
