Trabzon Day Trip
Trabzon is the Black Sea's largest city and was the capital of the Byzantine-era Empire of Trebizond, so a day here mixes a working port city with a concentrated set of historic sites. It is a real day trip, not a half-day add-on: the sights are spread across the old town and a hill above it, so you need the full day rather than a few hours between buses. Ordu is Giresun's neighboring hazelnut city along the same Black Sea coast, and its own Boztepe hill is the reason to go - a cable car lifts you straight from the seafront to a viewpoint over the city and bay. It's an easy, low-effort day out: no strenuous walking, no complicated logistics, just a coastal city with a good ride and a couple of solid historic stops. The pace is unhurried compared with Trabzon, since Ordu's center is smaller and easier to cover on foot.
