The Müggelsee Circuit is a 14 km loop around Berlin's largest lake in Köpenick, in the city's southeast. The trailhead is reachable by tram 60 or 61 to Friedrichshagen, or by S-Bahn S3 to Friedrichshagen station, with street parking available near the lakefront promenade; no permit is needed. The route gains about 50 m of elevation at its highest point, the Müggelturm observation tower, and is otherwise flat, following packed-dirt and gravel forest paths with occasional paved promenade sections in Friedrichshagen. Shade is plentiful through the Müggelheim forest sections, while the lakeside stretches are more exposed to sun and wind. Notable landmarks include the Strandbad Müggelsee swimming beach, the Alter Spreetunnel area, and the Müggelturm tower, which offers panoramic views over the lake and forest and makes a good turn-around point for a shorter half-circuit. Cafes and kiosks cluster near the Friedrichshagen promenade and at the base of the Müggelturm, but there are long stretches on the forest side of the lake without services, so carrying water is advisable.
