Casona del Nansa is a rural boutique property in Bielva, a village in the Nansa valley of Cantabria, at the eastern gateway to the Picos de Europa massif and approximately 10 kilometres from the Asturian border. The property occupies a traditional casona — the large stone farmhouse form characteristic of rural Cantabrian and Asturian architecture — with thick stone walls, a glassed-in gallery, wooden balconies, and a rear garden overlooking the valley and the distant limestone ridgelines of the Picos. Rooms are individually furnished with regional antiques, handwoven textiles, and locally crafted furniture; each has an en-suite bathroom and mountain or garden views. Breakfast is included in the room rate and uses local dairy products, honey, homemade preserves, and bread baked on site. The property does not operate a full evening restaurant; the nearby town of Cabezón de la Sal, 15 kilometres east, has a range of restaurants and cider houses. The Nansa valley is a recognised hiking and cycling corridor, and the owners hold detailed route knowledge for day walks and multi-day itineraries into the Picos, including access to the Desfiladero de la Hermida gorge and the upper Nansa headwaters. The property is very small, with fewer than ten rooms, and operates in an intimate family-run manner. Free parking is available on the estate.
